Our body remember, not the building|

The ethics of our memory

A window, a frame, a spotlight, a wall, and a brick

Knocked down, remodeled, repainted, retracted, and restated.

The Substation is an archive, a point of reference to the ethic of its memory, and the foundation of our culture.

Whose culture?

Each and every one of us, who passed by, spooked, perplexed, enchanted, and touched by the building.

We like to talk about community building. But one might question, to imagine a community shouldn’t we be looking forward and not back? To imagine, we have this responsibility. The responsibility to remember.

Our relation is thickened by these memories.

We are so afraid.

Afraid that such memories and the name, the names will fade and slip out of our minds.

We, each and every one of us have the responsibility to remember.

These memories that is integral to the community.

What are inscribed in this place, in an item, in these shapes and frames?

A name, a name with such heavy baggage.

The archive, the foundation, and the name live in each and every member of us.

It forms a cage, confines and constrains us.

But can this memory morph into a body, a body of water?

And we are free from these constraints and confinement,

We are free at last in this body.

So why should we be tied down by the historical baggage of this cage (building) while our body remembers?

The preservation of the inscribed knowledge and the liberation in the mobility, fluidity, and independence of our body should not be mutually exclusive.

Let the Substation spirit be the body that carries us forward, to more adventures and championship beyond this cage.
