從台灣這座島嶼所在的北緯23.5度出發，朝赤道方向探索，東南亞國家與台灣共同歷經了冷展時期，相近的戰後記憶，深刻影響著亞洲各國的發展，即便當時戰爭已結束，但人們腦海記憶裡的戰爭是永不停止的。引用越南作家保寧說的：「文學的出現本來就不應該是歌頌戰爭，作者的內心深處更接近的是和平主義的提倡者，記憶的守護者。」
